About Me

Bio

I am a tech person with unconventional imagination and creativity.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations specialized to work in international organizations in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2009. Then I moved to New York and started to work as Pharmacy technician because I thought I helped people and that has always been very important for me. I joined New York Cares organization to volunteer and took many projects such as “Art Explore” for little kids, elderly people, handicapped people and individuals who have psychological issues. I helped them to express themselves through different kinds of art because art is one of the tools of medicine. That experience helped me realize that I need to follow my heart because art became my life.

I went to Parsons School of Design to earn Graphic Design Certificate, which I successfully completed at the end of 2016. The school has helped me become open to many other paths and careers such as UX/UI designer, graphic designer, painter, photographer. Being open to different art forms has given me a broad perspective regarding creation and allowing me to combine various mediums in order to create new styles and unique works.

Artist Statement

When I was a child, I thought everyone saw things the same way as I did. I imagined that people had various abilities to explore and discover beauty in every little piece of life or whatever surrounded them.

I often find it challenging to maintain focus on the larger picture as tiny details gravitate my attention before anything else.  This (almost subconscious) forced process of noticing details creates a parallel reality for me, which has nothing to do with our material world.

We all consist of energy, not matter. People have been conditioned to classify themselves and others, according to a forced system of pre-determined judgements and/or conclusions, which seem(s) to be built on “having” rather than “being”.

Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.

Niels Bohr

Tools, surfaces and mediums

I implement a variety of tools to express my vision… always in pursuit to avoid any preset boundaries. Sometimes, the tools around me can seem extreme for some (blood, nails, hair, dust, etc.), but that is the purpose of art – to revolutionize our tools of observation, and therefore creation.

As a photographer, I tend to focus on landscape and abstract. As a painter, I use watercolor to express. Knowledge of graphic and web design helps me connect my vision to an observable piece of art and design functional sites that can easily generate interest and online traffic among the internet users.

Inspiration

Art is the air I breathe.

I get inspiration from everywhere: contemporary galleries, my own dreams, people around me, lights and shadows, whether it’s a subway ride, flying or walking. From earliest memories of my childhood, I always felt closely connected with nature, and it continues to amaze me how deeply it inspires me.
