AccelerWriter

Publishing Technology (SaaS)

AccelerWriter is a SaaS platform designed to help aspiring and professional authors transform their ideas into structured book outlines using an intuitive, step-by-step system. The product combined storytelling methodology developed by a bestselling author with modern technology to simplify the writing process and reduce writer’s block.

My role: Product Designer & Co-Founder

Challenge: The primary challenge was translating a proven writing methodology into a scalable digital product that could support users with different levels of experience. The product required balancing creativity with structure, ensuring the interface remained simple while delivering complex functionality.

Another challenge was entering a rapidly evolving market of AI-assisted writing tools, where user expectations and technology were changing quickly. We needed to differentiate the product through usability, branding, and a clear focus on the outlining process rather than generic AI writing features.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Led end-to-end product design from concept to launch readiness for a SaaS platform
  • Developed product strategy and authored the business plan, including market research and pricing model
  • Designed the complete brand identity, including logo, typography, color system, and visual language
  • Created user experience architecture, workflows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
  • Designed system templates, onboarding flows, and transactional email communications
  • Produced marketing and promotional materials, including bookmarks, postcards, and branded assets
  • Conducted usability testing and developed structured manual test cases for core workflows
  • Defined product requirements and collaborated with engineering to translate user needs into functional features
  • Designed and modeled a 3D “Writer’s Room” concept using Blender to explore immersive product ideas
  • Maintained product documentation and ensured design consistency across the platform

Tools and Technologies

  • Figma
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Blender
  • UX Research
  • Wireframming & Prototyping
  • Manual Testing
  • Product Strategy
  • Branding & Visual Design

Product Branding & Identity

The brand identity was intentionally designed to feel warm, creative, and inspirational, blending vintage aesthetics with modern functionality to create a unique experience tailored to writers. The visual language used natural textures, serif typography, and earth-tone colors to evoke the timeless nature of storytelling and distinguish the product from typical minimalist AI tools.

I designed the brand from the earliest concept sketches through the final implementation, including logo design, visual identity, UI patterns, marketing materials, and digital interfaces.

Product Vision & Business Strategy

The vision behind AccelerWriter was to create a practical tool that helps writers focus on storytelling rather than struggling with structure. The product was designed to simplify the early stages of writing by guiding users through a structured process that transforms ideas into complete outlines.

I developed the product strategy and authored the full business plan to define the product’s direction, target audience, pricing model, and long-term growth strategy. This included researching the writing and publishing industry, identifying customer segments, and designing a subscription-based model tailored to different user needs.

Special attention was given to positioning the product as a focused solution for outlining rather than a general-purpose AI-assisted writing tool, ensuring clarity of purpose and a strong user value proposition.

User Experience Architecture

The user experience was designed to guide writers through a structured workflow that feels intuitive, supportive, and efficient. The primary goal was to reduce cognitive load and help users stay focused on their creative process.

I defined the core user journey and interaction structure for the platform, ensuring each step was clear, predictable, and easy to navigate.

Key UX components included:

  • onboarding experience
  • account management interface
  • project creation workflow
  • outline generation process
  • results delivery and document management

The interface design emphasized clarity, readability, and consistency, allowing users to complete complex tasks with minimal friction.

System & User Flow Design

In addition to designing the user experience, I defined the system workflows that supported the product’s functionality and ensured reliable behavior across the platform.

These flows translated user actions into structured system logic and established clear requirements for development.

Core system workflows included:

  • user registration and authentication
  • email verification and password recovery
  • project creation and editing logic
  • document generation and delivery process
  • subscription and account management

By mapping these workflows early in the design process, I helped align product functionality with technical implementation and ensure a consistent, predictable user experience.

Product Testing & Quality Assurance

To ensure system reliability and usability, I developed structured manual test cases covering critical user scenarios and system behaviors.

Testing focused on validating:

  • account registration and login functionality
  • input validation and error handling
  • email verification workflows
  • password reset processes
  • system performance under different conditions

These test cases helped identify usability issues early and ensured the platform delivered a stable and predictable experience for users.

Marketing Materials

I developed a range of marketing and communication materials to support product promotion and user engagement, including promotional bookmarks, postcards and printed materials, digital advertisements and social media graphics, branded templates for product outputs, onboarding and transactional email templates.

These materials supported product launch, onboarding, and brand awareness initiatives.

Innovation & Exploration (3D Writer’s Room)

As part of the product exploration phase, I designed and modeled a 3D virtual “Writer’s Room” environment using Blender. The concept was intended to create an immersive workspace that visually represented the creative process.

Although this feature was not implemented in the final product due to performance limitations, the exploration helped evaluate new interaction concepts and expand the product’s design possibilities.

This experience strengthened my skills in concept prototyping and cross-disciplinary design experimentation.

Outcome

AccelerWriter reached full product readiness with a complete brand, functional platform, and structured user experience. Although the product did not achieve long-term adoption, the project provided valuable insights into product-market fit and user adoption behavior, strengthening my skills in product strategy, user experience design, and end-to-end product development.

Thank you for watching my project! I'm looking forward to collaborate with you.
